Maripure is home to a diverse and international team of scientists, engineers, seaweed and manufacturing professionals, united by a common passion – to drive urgent and impactful climate action, we champion biosolutions as the way forward.
Our first mission: tackling cattle enteric methane. Using natural compounds derived from seaweed cultivated in proprietary photobioreactors, powered by fish farm wastewater, we are developing a feed supplement that dramatically reduces methane emissions in cattle.

Today, cattle are the leading global source of anthropogenic methane, contributing 30% of emissions, with methane having 28 times the climate warming potential of CO2 over 100 years. Our natural feed supplement can be a vital tool for farmers as they reduce emissions, and improve on-farm economics.
We cannot forget that our food system provides 100% of our food and nutrition. There are currently, however, no suitable options for mitigating enteric methane production for the organic cattle industry. We believe in supporting cultures and livelihoods that prioritise animal welfare and product quality with our natural supplement.
